An apptitude for music runs in my family has been a part of my life since I was a very young. I grew up listening to my dad's collections of Simon and Garfunkel and the Moody Blues while my mom exposed me to classical music and jazz. I began studying bass with the late Geroge Stahl of the MN Orchesta and also studied with Jeff Bailey who has toured extensively with Lori Line, Tommy Barbarella (Prince's New Power Generation) with Movable Feast and Kari Noble. He is also on the Bass Faculty at McNally Smith College of Music. Jeff Bailey and I are also 1st cousins.

I started playing bass in elementary school and have yet to put it down. Early in Junior high I began playing electric bass in jazz band and soon formed my own garage band that pounded out the hits of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Metallica, Weezer, Smashing Pumkins and the Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as several original songs. All throughout my teens, the rest of the members of "Mind Riot" and I rocked Bloomington Jefferson to it's very core!!

Soon after, I decided to take my music the academic route and get a degree in Jazz studies from The University of Minnesota Duluth studiyng under Billy Barnard, Mike Johnson, Ryan Frane and Dave Schmalenberger. There I performed in countless ensembles, combos and became a top call bassist in the Twin Ports region performing in all styles. I was also a founding member of the Funk/Jazz quintet "Clockwork Jazz" which held a weekly spot at the famed Fitgers Brew House for over three years.

After college I moved back home and began working as a musician in the Twin Cities. I spent two summers in the Live Entertainment Dept. at Valley Fair, as well as working the local club scene with several noteable local bands including Shelby's Voyage, The Load Kings and Available Jones. I have also performed as a pit musician for several musicals including Little Shop of Horrors, Godspell, The Sound of Music and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Since 2001 I have held the bass chair for the New Voice Choir band performing and leading the contemporary worship services at All Saints Lutheran Church in Minnetonka. I am also a part time DJ and teach private lessons.
